Dynamic Text Tool
When the Dynamic Text Tool is selected, you can add dynamic text to your badge by clicking at the desired position on the model. A window appears that allows you to choose the database field in the  Linked to that will provide the text to be displayed, along with font type and size. The text will come from the database. Click OK when done. You can now resize and move the selected object.
Why is the icon beside the Linked to in the Dynamic Text Tool screen grayed out?

 Note
The Linked to List is the one you defined in the Badge Setup Field Definitions menu.
